The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, has given a signal to start implementing  range of industrial projects in the areas of Tabuk and Al Jouf,  which will be developed by The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones "MODON" at a total cost of more than 260 million Saudi riyals, as part of his tour in the regions of Al-Jouf and Tabuk, which establishes a new stage for the future, and raise the level of contribution of those regions in the GDP of the Kingdom.Eng. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al Salem, Director General of Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones "MODON", revealed that the total development projects launched in the industrial city of Tabuk amounted to more than 45 million riyals, including the development of infrastructure projects and the establishment of 8 ready factories for entrepreneurs. The tour included the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques laying the foundation stone for the Al-Jouf Oasis project worth g more than 220 million Saudi riyals, which covers over an area of 3 million m², and includes industrial land and infrastructure project for the Al-Jouf Oasis "first phase", in addition to the establishment of six ready factories. The upcoming Al-Jouf Oasis aiming to develop industrial lands, establish ready-made factories, business incubators, commercial and investment areas, logistics services, and public facilities. It is expect to host a number of light industries, such as medical, food and packaging industries. The Oasis scheme also includes an advanced and integrated infrastructure that will be develop from the second quarter of 2019. It targets small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs. As well as the distinct work environment suitable for women, meet all their requirements and take into account the privacy of proximity to the urban range. For his part, Eng. Khalid Al Salem state the importance of this important development project in supporting the empowerment of Saudi women and enhancing their role in the process of sustainable development of the national economy and creating new job opportunities in modern industrial oases, it integrates with industrial activities. He pointed out that the inauguration of the new Oasis comes within the framework of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' interest in everything that would serve and develop the industrial sector, and enhance the Kingdom's non-oil resources and raise them among the developed countries in the world. Since its establishment in 2001, MODON has been developing integrated industrial land to the highest international standards. It currently oversees 35 industrial cities under development in different regions of the Kingdom, as well as supervising private industrial cities. The developed industrial lands exceeded 196.2 million M² so far, the existing industrial cities includes 3,380 productive factories and 6,271 industrial, service and logistics contracts, employing more than 500,000 employees.
